Simoi & Kalvin - Recap

Okay I'm going to hijack this post to first talk about our new brand. We've been doing weddings for a while and although I love doing what I do I've never been crazy about our brand. It was something we came up with when we started our business and honestly I kind of thought I was stuck with it. Sight and Sound Creations has been a good name and brand for us but I think I've always felt that it lacked some personality. We're not boring people and our wedding films are far from boring so it makes sense that we have a brand that reflects that. For me I wanted something that I connected with in many ways and in turn something our couples would also really connect with. If that happens I think it's easy to remember us and be drawn to our services even more. This winter I was in Austin, Texas for a wedding filmmaker conference and in one session they talked in depth about branding and it made me really assess where we were at. On my way home, I took a detour to Nashville to visit my sister but not before making a much anticipated pitstop in Memphis where I visited Graceland. Yes, I'm a huge Elvis fan. It was here where the idea was born. All Shook Up Wedding Films just says everything we are about. We're passionate about couples in love. I'm even crazy at times when comes to filmmaking and getting that perfect shot or creating an amazing story in the editing suite. Anyway that's the story behind the new brand. We love it and we hope you love it as well.

Okay! Why did I choose this particular post to talk about connecting and branding. Because Simoi and Kalvin are two extremely passionate and fun people. They just have so much personality and charisma it was hard not to connect with them and enjoy every minute of their day. And passion exudes emotion so there were indeed moments of laughter and tears. With these two spirits were so high even though it poured rain all day. Nothing was going to stop them from having an incredible day. And Kalvin... well let's just say he was in a very giving mood that day. The gifts to Simoi were not few. Snow White and her seven helpers (bridesmaids). Very well thought out. It makes my job of telling the story so much easier. I love it when a story unfolds that's unique because it draws you in all the more. It was also a pleasure to meet and shoot next to Jonas and Ashley Granberg of Limelite Foto here in Red Deer. Check out the photos on their blog. I think they captured their personalities gorgeously. All right. Enjoy Simoi and Kal's recap.
